For my entire life I have been lucky enough to call North Vancouver my home. Growing up here I was heavily involved in many sports which instilled a fascination with movement and exercise.
While playing basketball at Capilano University I began my studies in kinesiology, before eventually transferring to the University of British Columbia to complete my degree. Through experiences in both academic and professional settings, I have had the privilege of working with a diverse collection of people including seniors, high-level athletes, youth athletes, individuals with neurodegenerative diseases, and many more. I wholeheartedly enjoy working with people and taking the time to understand each individual in order to help them progress towards their goals.
During my years playing competitive sports I was frequently sidelined with injuries. In my senior year of high school I sustained a serious lower back injury. After seeing multiple physiotherapists and not seeing any long-term benefits, I began to see a kinesiologist who started me on an exercise program that got me back to playing sport. Following that experience I learned to correct my own movement deficiencies and began a formal weight training program – adapting to incorporate weight lifting into my lifestyle rendered my back pain nearly non-existent. These experiences shaped my journey and motivated me to immerse myself in exercise science and kinesiology. I am a firm believer that movement is medicine and that we should all make an effort to integrate movement into our daily routines.
When I am not at the clinic you can find me watching sports, hiking the North Shore mountains, or discovering a local brewery. I look forward to working with you towards your goals.
