Mallory Riedlinger, RMT
I was born and raised in North Vancouver, and graduated from the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy (VCMT) in 2015. Since graduating, I have had the opportunity to work in both spa and clinical atmospheres. Though I love the relaxing atmosphere of the spa, I found my passion for helping people better suited a clinical practice.
After a back injury while working as a cook in a fishing lodge in the Haida Gwaii, I discovered the benefits of massage therapy, and how massage helps people recover from pain that I thought at the time was just a normal part of life! I had always been interested in human anatomy and how the body functions, so combined with my desire have a career working with people, massage therapy seemed like the perfect fit.
When I was a baby I had to undergo surgery, which left me with scars, and since beginning my practice I have been interested in scar tissue and how it affects the body. I’ve taken courses on how to treat scars post surgically, and learned that the best way to treat adhesions in the body is to prevent them from forming in the first place. With this knowledge I can help patients heal post surgically while preventing debilitating restrictions in the body.
I am also a believer that the body heals best when it is in a state of relaxation, so I try to incorporate a lot of flow and rhythm to help reduce any stress.
When I am not at work, you can find me relaxing at the beach, traveling, cooking and baking, and spending time with my family at our house in Christina Lake, BC.
